- Using Serverless & ARM64 for Real-Time Observability • Liz Fong-Jones • GOTO 2023: Tech talk about honeycomb’s database for timeseries and other monitoring platform related data that is built using lambda and s3. Sounds incredible. Was able to run leaner using arm not intel.
- The Microsoft Excel superstars throw down in Vegas: Competitive spreadsheeting. :) I’ve heard Excel can be a really powerful programming environment. The humble spreadsheet is one of a handful of applications that helped people realize computers were going to be very important tools in the future.
- Kyle Kukshtel, Uses this: Enjoyed this uses this entry for a game developer who’s dev pc is 7 years old. The game he’s working on now runs on very modest hardware. (Cantata on steam)
- Upgrading GitHub.com to MySQL 8.0: Migration plan from start to finish for a large upgrade of mysql at github. 1200 server vms.
- The size of our Prometheus setup as of June 2024: Haven’t seen a share like this before about the size and scale of a monitoring service. This is at university of toronto. uoft
