- Tech talk G1: To Infinity and Beyond: Overview of different gc strategies in modern jvms. Tradeoffs to be had.
- Tines: scale by design and by default: Straightforward architecture for an important application. Keeping it easier to reason about makes it easier to enhance and operate.
- ‘Merchants of Complexity’: Why 37Signals Abandoned the Cloud: DHH talks about the move out of aws to self hosted hardware. The savings sound substantial.
- Tech talk P99 CONF: Corporate Open Source Anti-Patterns panel w/ Bryan Cantrill, Adam Jacob, Ashley Williams: Great talk about open source software and how companies are doing it. Great 30m conversation between the Cantrill, Ashley Williams and Adam Jacob! (Chef dude) This is one of my favourite tech talks in awhile. ;)
- “We’re All Just Temporarily Abled”: Good reminder for me about where we’re all headed and that there are things I can do to help out people who are already there while I’m able.
